Here's the new dome, complete with Orpington-cross rooster (the broody hen and the new Orpington-Barnveld hen are jostling it out in the old oil drum at that back of the dome that serves as a nesting box). In the foreground you can see some of the many feral lettuces that have popped up in recent weeks, and a pest-guard bag that is protecting a small silverbeet, which would otherwise get shredded by our resident sparrows.
Dear Hilary,
I have just caught up with the last year of your blog--- great work, well worth reading. Also very inspiring. We are considering chookies for the new house.
(Actually I was hoping to find a link to your new blog--- the address Bruce sent me didn't work).
see you round
Julie.
