Hi, I've almost finished making a chook dome & I live in Wagga Wagga (so similar climate). I grew up in canberra and remember foxes getting our chickens through a small hole in our fence. I see your domes don't have any wire skirting at the bottom, don't you have trouble with foxes? Can't the foxes easily dig or push under? Also do your chooks have enough shelter to keep warm in canberra's cold winters? I have a teepee like tent structure hanging from the middle of my dome for them to roost in but I don't think the system works as well because it is harder to throw scraps evenly around the pen. I think Linda Woodrow lives in a slightly more coastal enviroment (python trouble) so maybe its warmer there.I'm pretty new to all this so your comments would be greatly appreciated.

Great domes! I'm despertaly search for the instructions on how to make one of my own. Any ideas on where to get 'em online?

Thanks!

Jan

Hi Hilary,
Are you old enough to remember 'The Good Life'?
It is very impressive - not only do you have time to look after a teenage daughter, family and livestock. You have more tomato varieties than the local supermarket and even then have time left to take photos and write about it on the internet to entertain your friends!
Furthermore you are clearly not put off by the occasional disaster!
Best of luck with your projects - you obviously deserve an award for gardener of the year!
Love Janx

Looks like you're really transforming your garden! Where did you get the dome from? I'll expect to sample some of the produce next time I'm out there.

Good girl - keep up the good work.
